Alright guys get ready for the “New Year New Me” posts. I’m sorry you’re gonna see it from me too 🥴! I’m for real this time ! I have had some terrible money management skills this year and since I had a baby budgeting is imperative nowadays. So step into the new year with these Money Goals for 2020 ! We are in our bag all year LITERALLY 😝💵🙏🏾
“We got food at the house”
I’m not afraid to admit it ! I spent way too much money on takeout 🥡. Whether it be a couple sandwiches at Checkers (some people call it Rally’s) or DoorDashing some iHop, I was not starving in 2019. Now granted, I was pregnant for most of 2019 so my cravings were all over the place. My husband also was away a lot due to his truck driving business so I used food for comfort as well . I only cooked when I knew my husband would be home but, if I was alone I’m going out to eat ,PERIOD! All of my sneaking and eating definitely caught up with my pockets in 2019. For the new year I plan on implementing more one pot dishes to my menu. They are budget friendly and very easy to make . Most of the recipes I will follow will probably come from Pinterest or YouTube.
Keep electric bill low ⚡️
One of the highest electric bills I had this year was around $300 and that’s a no go 🙅🏾♂️! So for 2020 it’s important to unplug unused electronics and cut off lights that aren’t being used . It’s currently the peak of winter so instead of blasting the heat try to keep it at 78 and opt for extra blankets. My husband and I bought a very small electric heater that you plug into the wall that doesn’t require a ton of watts . Here’s the link . We’ve had it for about 2 years without any problems. It manages to keep whatever room you’re occupying warm.
SAVE , SAVE , SAVE
It was really hard to save in the beginning of the year for me but toward the end I was able to find the light 💡! I was able to save money everyday using an app called Digit . (Shout out to Diamond) Digit analyzes your spending and automatically saves the perfect amount every day, so you don’t have to think about it. It takes small amounts of money out of your account every day or every other day and helps you meet your financial goals. This app was such a life saver for my family and I. (Not sponsored just really love the app) I plan on continuing the use of this app and save more aggressively in the new year
Budget and plan expenses
I’m currently on the lookout for the “perfect” budget app and planner . My budgeting is not at the level where I would like , mainly because I feel like it’s almost impossible to budget properly when you don’t have a lot of income coming in which brings me to my next point….
Create more revenues of income 💵💰💶
This is extremely important to me . I am determined to completely put aside my 9-5 altogether and only do what I love for money . But until then I got to maintain my side hustles. Anything from work from home jobs to daily tasks on the internet it’s a ton of ways we can make money online . Here’s a few that I’ve already done: Postmates, DoorDash, Lyft, Gazelle (sold old smartphones), Amazon Mechanical Turks (micro jobs ), online surveys, and TaskRabbit. I did most of those while pregnant. They are very easy to make some type of extra income. It may not get you rich but it can definitely help you get over the hump (especially if you’re not lazy). I will talk more about these side hustles and others like them in a future post
I hope you guys enjoyed my money goals for 2020 🎊🎉! I plan on creating valuable content on a consistent basis for you . I hope you guys continue to read and share my posts. I pray this new year brings us prosperity, love and happiness ! Peace and blessings to you all! ❤️
